SE-Boot
Designed for outdoor electricians
Outdoor electricians work miles up in the sky. They work under harsh weather conditions to ensure our electrician supply. However, the shoes they are wearing are usually designed for more general construction sights. This project aims to provide boots that better suit their needs.

Senario Insights
Climbing poles, and walking on wires are a big part of an outdoor electrician's job. Pressure distribution at the palm area and slip prevention are key in the design. In addition, insulation, warmth, and breathability should also be considered.

Ideation
Taking inspiration from professional climbing shoes, I designed the sole, toe cap, and heel counter as one whole piece for better pressure distribution.

Design Outcome
The final design is mainly made out of rubber and a special waterproof breathable material. The orange (or white) part is reflective, so it can be seen easily when working at night or on foggy days. The shoelaces are replaced with a buckle system to prevent the shoe from hooking on the infrastructure.
